JFB Myofascial Release

The John F. Barnes’ Myofascial Release Approach® provides safe, gentle and consistently effective therapy for fascial restrictions resulting from imbalances due to trauma, inflammatory responses, surgical procedures, deeply held tensions and poor posture.

Fascia is uninterrupted connective tissue from head to toe. It is all encompassing covering muscle fibers, bones, nerves, blood vessels and cells. Many of its local manifestations of distortion have distal effects on the body. Myofascial Release treats the entire mind/body system whereby, eliminating the pressure of the restricted connective tissue system, "the straightjacket", that causes pain related symptoms.

Visualize fascia as netting for your bones and organs, suspending and holding all of your internal body structures in place. It is a highly complex biological dense fabric that holds us together. There are approximately 70 trillion cells within this fibrous 3D weblike maze. Fascia houses nerves, blood vessels and cells which help to keep your body functioning properly. When fascia is tight or strained, it can feel like 2000 pounds per square inch of pressure pulling or squeezing around any given body system, immediately causing pain, discomfort and dysfunction. Sustained gentle MFR pressure helps to relieve these tight, guarded and painful restrictions. You will feel your bodymind go from resisting to releasing.

Myoskeletal Alignment Technique Therapy

Myoskeletal Alignment Technique Therapy is a type of bodywork developed by Erik Dalton PhD. of the Freedom From Pain Institute. It is a modality that detects and corrects long and short muscle lever imbalances that lead to distortions in the body’s framework. It integrates spinal biomechanics with deep tissue work with a gentler approach. MAT emphasizes on prevention of dysfunctional compensatory patterns with a focus on restoration and realignment. It recognizes the strain patterns that create most common neck and back imbalances. It corrects the strain patterns before they become pain patterns within the skeletal and muscle physiology. First, we must bring the body back into balance and, once achieved, we can then come from a place of preventing recurrences.

Myofascial Stretching

Myofascial stretching distills the principles of Myofascial Release into a unique self-treatment technique. It results in permanent lengthening of the body's connective tissue and can dramatically improve health and quality of life. The techniques employ sustained pressure and elongation into restrictions in the fascia in a gentle way.  Teaching retraining exercises and creating symmetry through proper alignment reinforces healthful changes.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage Vodder Method

MLD is a highly specialized bodywork technique designed to increase the movement of lymph and interstitial fluid. Gentle pumping pressure is applied and adapted to follow the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system. Please be advised that there are a variety of contraindications for this type of manual therapy, and therefore, requires your physician’s approval. MLD can help with: sprains; whiplash; hematoma; post surgical and post traumatic edema; oncology; fibromyalgia; CFS; RA; scleroderma; CRPS; palliative/hospice care; migraines and sinus headaches; tinnitus and lymphedema just to name a few. It can also be incorporated into any bodywork session to induce a soothing, analgesic, pain relieving response.

Ashiatsu

In the Japenese language “Ashi” translates to foot and “Atsu” into pressure. Ashiatsu DeepFeet Bar Therapy, is a barefoot massage technique in which the therapist delivers deep, broad, consistent pressure while utilizing their feet and body weight. Working with gravity instead of against it, Ashiatsu therapists are able to provide an effective therapeutic massage without causing pain or discomfort to themselves or the receiving client. Parallel bars are used above the massage table for balance, support and client safety.

Craniosacral

A modality intended to relieve pain and tension by gentle manipulations between the skull and sacrum to facilitate a natural rhythm in the central nervous system. Light touch application to a recipient's spine and pelvic bones can reduce internal tensions, often resulting in a reduction of symptoms.

Cupping

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which the therapist places special cups on the recipient for a few minutes to create suction. Cupping can help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and as a type of deep-tissue massage. Cupping allows toxins within the tissue just below the skin’s surface to be purged from the body, allowing the body to feel less restricted and inflamed.

Thai Bodywork

Thai Bodywork or Thai yoga massage, otherwise known as “lazy man’s yoga”, is an ancient modality which combines muscle compression, joint mobilization, stretching, acupressure and Indian Ayurvedic principles. It also incorporates spirituality and is based on a system of healing. The “massage” generally follows designated lines ("sen") in the body. The legs, feet and palms of the therapist can be used to position the body or limbs of the recipient to produce relief from tight joints and muscles.

Reiki

Reiki therapy is often described as palm healing or hands-on-body healing, in which the therapist places hands lightly on or over a recipient's body to facilitate the healing process. Reiki combines the Japanese and Chinese word-characters of "rei" (spiritual or supernatural) and "ki" (vital energy). Reiki allows the bodymind to rest deeply, feeling a sense of rejuvenation and peace after the treatment.
